Voting is freedom of expression and important part of free speech. Restrictions towards voting is censorship of opinions in global scale. Finland has too much politicians who dont understand what voting really is about. Especially populist politicians in Finland use term freedom of speech to allow hate speech to gain popularity but dont want to give Finnish people opportunity to vote freely without stupid restrictions. In America during the 2012 Presidential elections many people have realized how stupid the electoral votes system is. George Bush did not win fairly Al Gore which was a major thing that ruined the Republicans image in my mind originally. Now that Barack Obama twice have won reasonably fairly in popular votes and electoral votes the game has changed and there are some hope for advancement of freedom of expression by voting at least in regards more people knowing how fucked up the legislation is. Globally. In Finland The Green Party have been only party that have been reasonably vocal of making legislation more fair. Opponents are stil too strong and the compromises could screw up the possibility to have major advancement in democratic process here in Finland. Timo Soini and Jussi Halla-aho are the two worst examples of politicians who dont give a fuck about real freedom of expression.
