We need your help, we have received a letter from the BPI telling us that they we will be hearing from their solicitors. This threat comes because the Pirate Party UK has hosted a proxy (tpb.pirateparty.org.uk), allowing people to connect to the Pirate Bay via Pirate Party servers since the 19th of April 2012. We provided the proxy because we oppose site-blocking on this basis and to ensure that users on networks where the Pirate Bay is blocked through filtering (most but not all ISPs in the UK) could still access the Pirate Bay. If we face a legal challenge, and it seems that we will, we will need money. We will need to get a legal team that is capable of putting together a case that will not only keep the proxy in place, but also settle the issues surrounding the arbitrary censorship of the web for commercial interests.
