Forensics search house and car seized following Swindon shooting – Swindon Advertiser

Police and crime scene investigation units descended on Sackville Close,a smallcul-de-sac off Drakes Way, in numbers on Friday after the incident on March 23.

A man was left with potentially life-changing injuries after being shot in the arm on Thursday evening.

The victim took himself to the hospital from the scene at around 9.15pm with a gunshot wound, where he was treated for his injury.

Following this, an investigation into the shooting was launched by Wiltshire Police, and the small street has been a crime scene since.

Several police cars were spotted parked along Drakes Way, and in Sackville Close itself, with police officers, PCSOs and detectives overseeing the scene.

Police tape was put up at the end of the cul-de-sac, strung from fences at either side of the street, blocking off public access to the row of homes at the end of it.

As of 1pm one of these forensic officers could be seen going in and out of the house carrying boxes of various things.

At one point photographs were taken of the house's front door, and the two cars in the driveway at the front of the house.

A wheelie bin was searched as well.

A short while later a flatbed truck arrived to help police seize a vehicle as part of their investigations. Itloaded one of the two cars at the property - a white Mercedes -onto the back of it and then drove away.
