Filing for city council:

Incumbent at-large councilman Steve Taylor, a Democrat, with no opposition.

Republican Russell C. Butts and incumbent Democrat Jan E. Ballard, for District 1 council. Neither have primary election competition.

Republican incumbent District 2 councilman Larry A. Matthews and Democrat Dick Fitch. They have no primary election challengers.
