Mark Mazurek announces for Gabryszaks former Assembly seat

As expected, another Democrat is seeking to succeed Democrat Dennis H. Gabryszak in the Assembly following his resignation back in January.

Mark Mazurek, brother of political operative Kristy L. Mazurek, who also had been viewed as a potential candidate, announced Friday he will run for the seat.

Im a business professional, not a professional politician, he said. Im running for this office because taxpayers deserve someone in Albany whose only special interest is working in the public interest.

Camille Brandon, a veteran Democrat who works for Republican County Clerk Christopher L. Jacobs and who at one time worked for former County Executive Dennis T. Gorski, also has been building support for the party nod.

Cheektowaga Councilwoman Angela Wozniak is the Republican and Conservative candidate.

Mazurek earned a masters degree in business administration from Medaille College, and has worked for several companies, including Mentholatum, General Electric Healthcare, Buffalo Gauge and Praxair.
