Mike Huckabee slams Hillary Clinton on Benghazi at CPAC

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md., March 7 (UPI) -- Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee took shots at Hillary Clinton from the stage at the Conservative Political Action Congress, drawing out what might be the battle lines in a potential 2016 face-off.

Huckabee, a conservative darling who ran for president in 2008, said he won't make a decision on whether to run again in 2016 until after the midterms this fall. But if he does, and Clinton runs as well, Huckabee plans to paint a giant Benghazi-shaped target on her back.

"With all due respect to Hillary Clinton, it does make a difference why they died, he said, referring to Clinton's comments at a Senate hearing last year about the attacks on the U.S. consulate in Libya.

But, unlike fellow potential candidate Sen. Rand Paul, Huckabee said he would not bring up former President Bill Clinton's infidelities in a campaign against his wife.

"I personally dont like to see us get into the personal issues of candidates because once you go down that road its hard to ever put it in reverse and go back, he told reporters. Bill Clinton is not going to be on the ballot in 2016 or 2014 -- its very possible his wife will. What she said, what she did, how she has served both as a senator and secretary of state, so I think thats all fair play.
