THERE are many places to go and party over New Years Eve. Here are just some of them:

ORTIGAS, EASTWOOD Over at the Ortigas Area, Oakwood Premiers The Oakroom will hold a New Years Eve Dinner from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m., with a four-course set menu priced at P1,599++. Its New Years Day Buffet Brunch will be from noon to 3 p.m., priced at 1,499++. Special discounted rates may apply for a group of 10 or above. The Discovery Suites will have a New Years Eve Gala Dinner at 22 Prime from 7 to 10:30 p.m. featuring an appetizer buffet of smoked salmon, lobster and chistorra tarts, and prosciutto ham. The Seafood Bar offers prawns, Chilean mussels, coconut crabs with cocktail sauce, and other seafood treats. The buffets Carving Station offers US Angus prime rib au jus, roast turkey with chestnut and apple stuffing, and lamb leg Boulanger. The Hot Buffet includes roast rack of pork with brandied apples and slow-braised duck with port wine sauce. The Dessert spread includes the Chocolate Tables signature truffles and pralines, an eggnog station, a hot chocolate station, profiteroles, gingerbread crme brulee, apple crumble, and tropical fresh fruits.

After dinner, guests can proceed to the Columbus Function Room for a themed party entitled "Have a Groovy New Year" where they can dance the night away to disco hits performed by the show band Human Race. At midnight, guests can enjoy a skyline fireworks display.

A Great Gatsby-themed party will be held at the EDSA Shangri-las Lobby Lounge, and tickets (P4,888++) are inclusive of dinner and a show. Dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m.

The hotels Italian restaurant, Paparazzi, will serve a New Years Eve set dinner (P2,780++), while on New Years Day, Paparazzi offers an a la carte lunch while its set dinner is at P2,400++. Senju will have a New Years Eve set dinner (P2,780++) and a New Years day set lunch (P2,150++). Heat will offer a New Years Eve lunch (P1,480++) and dinner buffet (P2,900++). On New Years Day, there will be breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets (P1,100++, P2,250++ and P1,900++, respectively).
