MTV teases its ‘Inbetweeners’ reboot

I've written several times about The Inbetweeners, the raunchy British teen comedy that ran from 2008-2010.

Next month MTV premieres an American version of the hilarious show. And while I know the network has a shady history with British imports (remember MTV's short-lived Skins?) I've actually been hearing good things about this reboot.

Like its U.K. counterpart, MTV's Inbetweeners follows a group of guys trying to make their way through high school. It was adapted by Brad Copeland, whose credits include Arrested Development and My Name Is Earl, and the pilot was directed by Flight of the Conchords' Taika Waititi, so those are two more signs the show might deliver the goods.

Watch a trailer for the series over at MTV.com. (The language is a little spicy, but it's nothing compared with the British series!)

As for our favorite Brits, they all return in the Inbetweeners movie, slated for a September release. You can watch the saucy red-band trailer, but I'd advise you to put on headphones first.

MTV's The Inbetweeners premieres Aug. 20 at 10:30 p.m. ET. Check out the cast:
