How to get a taste of the seaside without leaving London

But since many of us will be in London this bank holiday weekend, we thought wed show you how to make you feel like youre beside the seaside, without leaving Zones 1 or 2 plus a few options for the rest of the summer.

Weymouth meets Spitalfields

OK, so its not quite like dipping your toes in the sea but the new Spitalfields branch of the Wright Brothers seafood restaurants is chock-a-block with outstanding seafood, from the fresh Weymouth-sourced brown crab to the mixed oyster platter and a tempting specials board. Dont forget to have a nosy at the gigantic tanks downstairs too the largest in London.

Brixham flavours at Exmouth Market

In an ideal world youd be throwing your line off the end of the harbour and fishing out some dinner. But youre not. Instead, dose up on Brixham wild black bream or Cornish cockles, smoked mussels, beer-battered haddock and beef-dripping chips and a home-made Whippy ice cream at Bonnie Gulls adorable venue in Exmouth Market. Smashing up the Dorset cock crab (hammer supplied) is recommended.
