INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION: Lend him your ear

He has the ear of the world.

And Eric Gravelle hopes as many as possible like what they hear from his electronic dance music entry into a worldwide deejaying contest.

Gravelle is reaching out for community support in his bid for the prestigious 'burn' Residency contest.

Burn is a Coca-Cola owned energy drink that is distributed in 80 countries.

The contest will award the top five deejays with three-month residencies in the electronic dance music epicentre of Ibiza, a resort island off the coast of Spain.

"At that point, it would a big career change for me -- up 'till now I've been among the locals fighting it out in the local bar scene," Gravelle said.

"It took me almost two and half days to make the 20-minute audition," he said describing his constant selects and edits from his extensive playlist.

"At the end of two and half days, I had quite the bags around my eyes," he said, while nodding to his wife for her patience.

Gravelle, who already has an online following for his electronic compositions, hopes more passive listeners appreciate the technical side of his work.
