London tattoo studio ditches skulls and goth designs for decor based on the Tube

High Barnet-based studio Underground Ink is decorated with images from the Tube, including tunnels, walkways, and Dali-esque murals of people waiting in stations where time doesn't exist...

Launched by former Ibiza-club manager and entreprenuer Andy Murphy, Underground Inkwas born from his passion for tattoo design and his ambition to transform the traditional anddated visual identity of tattoo parlours.

Our store is very different, Andy says. I chose to theme the name and the arty designaround the London Underground because it reflects and connects life in London, which iswhat were essentially about - all walks of life with their own personal stories, coming andgoing via our shop.

"I chose a vintage but contemporary interior style because I wanted toget away from the old dusty skulls environment you normally associate with tattoo parlours."
