Iran's president says his country only offers transparency in nuclear talks with world powers

TEHRAN, Iran Iran's President Hassan Rouhani is saying his country has nothing to offer except transparency in nuclear talks with world powers.

Iranian state television aired a speech by Rouhani live Sunday. The president says the Islamic Republic does not seek nuclear weapons.

Rouhani says: "We do not have anything on the table to submit to others except transparency."

His comments come ahead of a new round of talks between Iran and the world powers, which start Tuesday. They also come as hard-liners claim Rouhani's administration has given up too many concessions to the West in return for too little.

In November, Iran agreed to cap its uranium enrichment in exchange for sanctions easing. It is now negotiating a final deal over its contested nuclear program.
