There comes a time in a mans life that he starts to realize what is happening not just throughout the world, but in his own back yard. Lets take a quick look at Osceola County. We have land deals like Tohoqua, Judge Property, Live Oak, New Nolte Road and lets not forget the under budgeted Narcoossee Road Project. Then we had Heavenly Horse Manure, which has taken close to $1 million tax dollars for their own funding. We also have SunRail, which is supposed to be the next best thing since sliced bread. Give it a rest guys! Better yet, give us a rest. The list continues with the latest. The Chinese that we were supposed to sell ourselves to so that they can build a super structure that would give us 1,200 new jobs just like Colt did, (just being sarcastic). Then some Einstein comes up with another wonderful idea. Lets build another baseball stadium for a mere 30 to $40 million dollars on that property since the Chinese arent coming. A drop in the bucket for the five big shots sitting on the fourth floor of the County building. The only ones that are benefiting throughout these wonderful transactions are the same people that have been for many years. Follow the money. Which developers, which chamber buds, which land surveyors or even which family members and friends have benefited from all these deals? The citizens are coming in dead last as always. So, lets raise the gas tax. Lets add another penny gas tax, better yet, lets just round it out to a nickel on the gas tax, after all, itll be paid mostly by tourists. Yeah right. What about the taxpayers/citizens of our county? Lets get inventive and change the word tax to the word fee. The people wont mind as much. It seems that we have five rocket scientists for commissioners, (again being sarcastic). I guess when they were little boys they loved the game called follow the leader. Now its up to you to think and answer the $64,000 question? Whos their leader? Tony Ferentinos Kissimmee
