Police News Thursday, 20 June 2013 13:56

Osceola Sherriffs Deputies arrested two Miami men after fleeing in a truck filled with stolen Publix goods.

Rayniel Gutierrez-Vera and Jorge Perez-Borrego were charged with unoccupied burglary, possession of burglary tools, grand theft, loitering or prowling and resisting without violence. Vera was also charged with operating a commercial vehicle without a license and Borrego with battery on a law enforcement officer.

Just after midnight Thursday, a witness saw Borrego and Vera loading pallets into a box truck behind Publix on E. U.S. Highway 192 in Kissimmee. When the men spotted the witness, they fled in the direction of Partin Settlement Road and Neptune Road. Deputies soon met up with them at Partin Settlement Road, but the two men ran from the truck. Police caught and arrested Borrego a short distance away, and found Vera hidden underneath a car parked in a residential driveway shortly after.

Police found the stolen pallets on the truck, and arrested Borrego and Vera based on that evidence. They were booked them into Osceola County Jail.
