New York City Joomla! Day 2012 — Hosted by Microsoft/Featuring a Preview of Joomla 3.0

WHO: Technology and content management enthusiasts

WHAT: Hundreds of people from the international Joomla community of more than a half million active contributors will meet in New York for Joomla Day NYC 2012. Paul Orwig, president of Open Source Matters, a non-profit created to provide organizational, legal and financial support to the Joomla project, will give the keynote address and outline the future with a discussion and preview of Joomla 3.0 in advance of its launch on September 27, 2012.

On the second day of the conference, technologies needed to make Joomla sites run well and succeed in the marketplace will be highlighted, including a presentation by Joomla Day host Microsoft. Peter Laudati, Microsoft Developer Evangelist, will discuss why open source projects are so important and why Microsoft has strategically aligned itself with Joomla.

Workshops at the Microsoft hosted conference will feature a Developer Track, a Component Track, a Template Track, and a Joomla Core Track designed for those new to the Content Management Service (CMS). Expert speakers come from the Joomla New York City User Group and around the world.
