MANITOWOC (WLUK) -- A second suspect was convicted Tuesday in connection with a shooting near a city park.

Caiden Peterson, 17, pleaded no contest to first-degree recklessly endangering safety for the Feb. 6, 2022 incident. Four other counts were dismissed. Sentencing is scheduled for June 30, court records show.

The other suspect, Jordan-Anthony Roberson, was sentenced to time served and probation for his role in the incident.

Police received reports of shots fired in the area of Westfield Park on Feb. 6, 2022. Witnesses and area surveillance showed multiple males engaged in a physical altercation that led to shots fired and multiple suspect vehicles driving away from the area.

A relative told police Roberson said he was in an altercation at the park, someone shot at him, and he fired back and fled the area, the probable cause statement states. No one was injured.
