PBA: Ginebra wary of complete, improved Talk 'N Text

Fan favorite Barangay Ginebra shocked Talk 'N Text during the elimination round, but the Gin Kings remain wary of the third-seeded Tropang Texters for their knockout game on Tuesday.

"Ibang-iba na sila compared dun sa first time na nakalaban namin sila," veteran guard LA Tenorio told reporters after their victory over GlobalPort on Friday.

Without veterans Jimmy Alapag and Ranidel de Ocampo, who were taking a break following their Gilas Pilipinas stint, Ginebra dropped a dominating 101-81 defeat on the Texters in front of the 50,000-strong crowd in the PBA opening held in Philippine Arena.

The Kings then went on to a commanding 5-1 start in the conference, only to lapse into defensive meltdowns in the next three games. They finished with a 6-5 card for fifth place, while Talk 'n Text steadily climbed in the standings as Alapag and de Ocampo came back for the team.

"They're very talented, very precise sa lahat ng mga ginagawa nila," Tenorio said of the third-seeded Texters, who advanced to the quarterfinals with an 8-3 slate.
