Federal Liberals Maintain Popularity in Atlantic Canada

The federal Liberals maintain a wide lead of voter support in Atlantic Canada.

A new poll by Corporate Research Associates shows over half of decided voters support the Liberals (55 per cent), while one quarter prefer the Conservatives (26 per cent). The NDP trail, consistent with the last quarterly poll at 16 per cent.

Justin Trudeau is preferred as Prime Minister by four in 10 Atlantic Canadians, Stephen Harper's popularity stands at 19 per cent, while preference for Thomas Mulcair rests at one in seven.

Some six in 10 residents are dissatisfied with the current federal government.

Numbers from this province show 62 per cent of those polled would support the federal Liberals and 49 per cent of people prefer Trudeau for Leader. Harper polled three points higher than Mulcair for preference for Prime Minister.

Some 1,500 residents of Atlantic Canada were surveyed between Nov.5-30th. Results are accurate within 2.5 percentage points 95 times out of 100.
