Davis asked members of the House to observe a moment of silence.

Following the moment of silence, and a couple of other statements by ministers, MHAs dove into question period.

Liberal Leader Dwight Ball led with questions about the blackouts from last January, and NL Hydro's preparedness for this winter.

Aside from those questions, the Liberals focused heavily on Justice and Public Safety Minister Judy Manning.

The Opposition was focused on highlighting the fact that she was not able to respond to the issues.

Its been a rocky couple of months since Davis secured the leadership of the PC party and assumed the role of premier.

In the past year, the PCs have lost five straight byelections in electoral districts that were utterly safe for the Tories just a few years ago.
