Letter: Don’t let media control your life – Norwich Bulletin

The media has become a dangerous and disgusting entity in our country, to the point where if you need a colonoscopy, you could read a rag like the New York Times instead of using laxatives. British newspaper magnate Lord Northcliffe defined journalism as a profession whose business it is to explain to others what it personally does not understand. How true!

Years ago, the media reported the news and the people analyzed it. Now they insult our intelligence, speaking for us and using their bogus grandstanding and biased views to create false narratives. One example is a Bulletin editorial during the election cycle that wondered aloud whether Donald Trump wanted to win or if he was a Democratic plant who aims to throw the election in Hillary Clintons favor.

President Lyndon Johnson, well aware of the medias jaundiced eye, called them puppets that simply respond to the pull of the most powerful strings. The New York Times insinuated it would attempt to derail Trumps campaign, even if it meant lowering their journalism standards. Could it actually go any lower?

I say dont allow the poisoned pens of these keyhole peepers and gasbags to control your lives.
