OpenRemote with XBMC media control.
Guillaume Carlier continues with his video series of example OpenRemote use cases. This one is a simple, customized user interface for the X-Box Media Center. It is based on the JSON/RPC interface XBMC makes available for clients and control actions. Integrating media center controls with your automation control panel allows you to synchronize multiple devices and orchestrate actions. Starting the media streaming and controlling the playback device, for example turning on a TV set or video projector and lowering a motorized screen for projection. It is also possible to combine more related actions such as turning off or dimming lights, turning on audio controls, and closing motorized curtains and blinds. Customized control user interfaces will let you create user experiences that are geared towards specific user groups -- this could include a limited set of media center controls for some users, or presenting a more simplified UI experience. With dedicated buttons and macros in the user interface, you can set up the media center to play pre-defined fixed set of media instead of a completely open-ended user experience. And finally, it is always possible to brand the entire user experience for your customer base.From:openremoteViews:351 3ratingsTime:01:55More inScience Technology
