Mike Pence responds to Trump’s Twitter humiliation of Jeff Sessions – TheBlaze.com

Vice President Mike Pence defended Trumps Twitter humiliation of his own Attorney General Jeff Sessions to Fox News host Tucker Carlson on his show Wednesday.

Well look, I think the presidents been very candid, he said, that hes disappointed with the attorney generals decision to recuse himself and to not know about his intention to do so before he was confirmed as the attorney general of the United States.

But I have to tell you Tucker, he said, youve been around Washington for a long time, I know the Washington way is to talk behind peoples backs. But thats not President Donald Trumps approach.

One of the great things about this president is you always know where you stand, he concluded.

The American people like about this president is he speaks candidly, he speaks openly, Pence continued. Hes expressed his disappointment but that doesnt mean that we dont recognize the good work that the Justice Department has been doing under the attorney generals leadership.

Taking on MS13 gangs, removing them from the streets, confronting sanctuary cities, rolling back that policy across the country. he concluded.

I think its the public expression of it that rattles people, Carlson challenged. The idea that you would attack someone who works for you on Twitter and I wonder if you worry personally if the president was displeased with you that he might tweet about you that way. Does that ever occur to you?

Well, I think one of the presidents virtues is his candor, Pence repeated.

Right, Carlson agreed.

Carlson has pleaded with the president from his show to stop what he called the humiliation and suffering of Trumps friend who supported his candidacy when others didnt.
