APC women protest non-release of Chibok girls

Members of the women wing of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State poured out on the streets of Akure on Tuesday to protest the continued abduction of Chibok girls by the terrorist group, Boko Haram.

The street-to-street protest, which hampered the free flow of traffic across the city, started with a procession from the Adegbemile centre through Oba Adesida-Oyemekun to Ilesa Garage.

The protesters who dressed in red uniforms and head gears, carried placards with various inscriptions and chanted solidarity songs.

The APC women numbering over 1,000 were led by Mrs Kehinde Adeniran and former Action Congress of Nigeria women leader, Erelu Modupe Akindele-Johnson.

They made a brief stop over at the new APC secretariat, Cathedral, Akure where they expressed their grievances on the development before the State Chairman,Isaac Kekemeke.

The women prayed in different languages for quick release of the school girls presently in captivity.

Adeniran said, We came as mothers with bitterness and anger, we are feeling the pains of missing these innocent young girls in their respective homes in the past six months

We were deceived by the Federal Government that the abducted girls would be released last monday, but as at now, there is no inkling of their whereabouts.

Mr Chairman,as our party leader here in Ondo State,we are sending you to President Goodluck Jonatgan to expedite action in finding a way to release these children without further delay.
