Aregbesola sworn in, APC promises to transform Nigeria

A national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and some governors of the APC-controlled states have said President Goodluck Jobathan should begin to pack his belongings from the Aso Rock, believing that a majority of Nigerians will replace him with an APC president in the 2015 elections.

They spoke at the inauguration of Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, for second term in Osogbo on Thursday.

The Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Oyebola Ojo, performed the swearing-in for Aregbesola and his deputy, Mrs. Titi Laoye-Tomori, and also administered the oath of office on the duo.

The swearing-in was held in a crowded stadium amidst jubilation from thousands of broom-wielding crowd who trooped out to witness the ceremony.

Aregbesola was declared governor on November 26, 2010, by the Court of Appeal in Ibadan after years of legal battle against Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola and won a re-election on August 9, 2014.

The APC governors, who spoke at the ceremony are Ibikunle Amosun(Ogun), Abdulfattah Ahmed(Kwara), Adams Oshiomhole(Edo), Babatunde Fashola(Lagos) and Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Mr. Moses Adeyemo.

Tinubu, who congratulated the people of Osun State for resisting those he called the forces of repression during the August 9 governorship election, said the new philosophy of the APC was commonsense revolution, while urging the youths and every Nigerian to vote out Jonathan in 2015.

Tinubu, who spoke in Yoruba, said many understood revolution to mean violence, explaining that every Nigerian must use their voter card to elect the kind of leader they want.

He said, The revolution we are talking about is the ability to use our voter card to send those people away because they have failed woefully.

This revolution will take care of the elderly ones, create employment and to generate enough electricity and not to lie like they are telling lies from Abuja.
