A senatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in Osun-East senatorial district, Mr. Sola Lawal, has said Governor Rauf Aregbesola cannot upturn his victory at the partys primaries.

Lawal, who accused the governor of rejecting his victory because of his alleged bias for incumbent Senator Babajide Omoworare, said this in a statement signed by his media aide, Mr. Sina Adeyemi.

Lawal, who is the publicity secretary of the APC in Ogun State, said it was unfortunate that those who fought against injustice perpetrated against them before getting to power could be involved in oppressing others.

The aggrieved aspirant said he was ready to defend his victory, saying he won the primaries because of the support of the people.

Lawal said he polled 17 votes to defeat Omoworare who, according to him, scored just three votes .

He said, Similar primaries were conducted at the same venue where former Governor Isiaka Adeleke defeated the incumbent Senator Mudashir Hussain of Osun-West, while incumbent Senator Sola Adeyeye defeated Otunba Lai Oyeduntan in Osun-Central.

While Governor Rauf Aregbesola accepted the victories of Adeleke and Adeyeye, he rejected that of Lawal, preferring to have the incumbent serve a second term. Any attempt to subvert the will of the people through electoral subterfuge will be resisted because I am prepared to defend my mandate.

Both the law, as well as accepted mode of civil conduct, do not prescribe different rules for different people.Whatever is good for Adeleke and Adeyeye should also be nice for Sola Lawal, since it is the choice of the people that is important here.

Whoever finds himself in a position of power today, especially those who have suffered injustice in the past, should desist from unleashing injustice on others, so that the land can be rid of the suffocating stench of oppression.
