WASHINGTON - Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul has fired his first political shot at former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

Bush announced Tuesday that he was "actively exploring" a run for president in 2016. Hours later, people who were on Google doing "Jeb Bush" searches saw an ad from RANDPAC, Paul's political action committee.

The ad appeared right under stories that popped up on Bush.

"Join a movement working to shrink government. Not grow it," the ad said.

So, although Paul has said he won't make a decision on a White House bid until March or April, the senator's PAC clearly decided not to leave Bush's day unanswered.

TIME magazine had a screen grab of the ad:

Consider it a Paul warning shot across Bush's bow.

The Paul camp has a regular presence on the web, said RANDPAC spokesman Sergio Gor.

"RANDPAC routinely runs various advertisements across various platforms," he said in an e-mail.
