Rand Paul's leadership PAC is going on the air for the first time to bolster embattled Kansas Republican Sen. Pat Roberts, who is fighting a close race to hold onto his Senate seat against independent businessman Greg Orman.

The ad focuses on an issue close to Paul's heart: eliminating foreign aid, particularly for countries he believes are disrespectful to the U.S.

"When the Senate voted to keep sending billions to countries that hate us, Pat Roberts said no. Pat Roberts was one of a few true conservative senators who stood with Rand Paul and said, 'Stop sending taxpayers' money to countries where radicals storm our embassies, burn our flag and kill our diplomats.' Pat Roberts fighting for our American home by bringing our tax dollars home," a narrator says in the ad.

The six-figure buy will put the ad on broadcast, cable and online It will air starting Tuesday through election night.

Doug Stafford, the Executive Director of RANDPAC, said that Paul is "proud to stand with" Roberts in his candidacy.

The latest CBS News/New York Times Battleground Tracker has Roberts and Orman tied at 40 percent each.
