May 18, 2014 Republican candidates for District 4 Magistrate Candidate questionnaires

Anonymous Register Staff Report The Richmond Register Sun May 18, 2014, 12:37 AM EDT

RICHMOND Candidate: Tom Botkin, 55

Education: Studied at Community College of the Air Force

Past/current employment: Foreman at the Okonite Company, current; chief warrant officer three in the United States Army, 20 years

Past elected or appointed boards/offices: Spent the last five years on the board of directors of the Committee of the 101 supporting the University of Kentucky Athletic Department

What do you see as the top three issues facing Madison County?

First, we must ensure the safety of our citizens as the destruction of chemical weapons begins at the Blue Grass Army Depot. I believe my experience as a career Army Officer will be a great asset to our residents providing information and resolving issues that will arise during this process.

Second, we must be proactive in improving the quality of life for the people of the Fourth District while maintaining financial integrity and growing our infrastructure.

Finally, we must be diligent in our efforts to provide every citizen a safe, drug free community to live and raise our children and grandchildren.
