COLORADO SPRINGS - With a Supreme Court seat up for grabs, some groups are looking at how the president's pick could affect second amendment rights.

Colorado Circuit Court Judge Neil Gorsuchemerged as a front runner for the spot early this week.

Right now, there is little information that indicates his thoughts about second amendment rights.

However, as a conservative, some groups that support more regulations are nervous about how his opinions could impact the future.

I don't think there's any question that he's going to be supportive of the Second Amendment. At Colorado Cease Fire, support the Second Amendment also. The real question is does he believe that the second amendment provides an absolute right to bear arms, said Tim Mauser, the spokesperson for Colorado Ceasefire.

Gun rights' advocates hope another conservative justice will mean fewer regulations.

What it was about was keeping a conservative pro-gun person in the Supreme Court, said Paul Paradis, the owner of Paradise Sales Firearms.

President Trump is expected to nominate a candidate for the seat next week.
