Socialtec International: SSL International in Brazil fighting HIV with Social Marketing Impact
http://www.socialtec-international.com Worldwide five million new victims were infected by HIV/AIDS last year. Of that five million, fifty percent were under twenty five. However, the community here in Brazil is fighting back with a project focussed on prevention. Peter Roach of Socialtec International explains that SSL International is the world leader in the manufacturing of condoms and we are inextricably linked to the fight against HIV/AIDS. We have learned a lot through marketing Durex Condoms around the world, and so we are using our expertise to make a difference in low income communities around the world. Program H takes an holistic approach and that is what attracted SSL to this program. We have an educational component that talks to individuals on issue such as sex and reproductive healthcare, fatherhood and caregiving and living with HIV/AIDS. The second components addresses lifestyle social marketing, talking to youngsters in their own language to promote attitude and behavioral change, promotion of public healthcare services and evaluation. (Music) Program H is a social intervention that is designed to change the attitude and behavior of fifteen to twenty-four year olds.
