DPRK's Birthday Marked by Syrian Media

Pyongyang, September 21 (KCNA) -- Syrian TV and radio broadcasting services and newspapers carried special reports on Sept. 7 and 9 to mark the 66th founding anniversary of the DPRK.

The Syria TV Channel aired the portrait of smiling President Kim Il Sung and pictures documenting the revolutionary activities of Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un.

It praised the President for founding and developing the DPRK and Kim Jong Il for firmly defending socialism under the unfurled banner of Songun.

It also introduced in detail the exploits of Kim Jong Un who is adding luster to the DPRK as a country for the people which world progressives look up to by carrying forward the revolutionary cause of Juche started and advanced by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

The Syria Radio broadcast an article titled "On the occasion of the 66th founding anniversary of the DPRK".

The Syrian newspaper Al Thawrah in an article titled "DPRK greeting victorious and glorious 66th anniversary" said the DPRK firmly defended socialism enjoying trust and support from its people, standing undeterred when the Soviet Union and East European socialist countries collapsed late in the last century.

The DPRK has strong nuclear deterrence and manufactures and launches satellites, the paper added.

The Syrian paper Al Baath in an article titled "On the occasion of the 66th founding anniversary of the DPRK, bulwark of socialism" said that the DPRK has vigorously pushed forward the building of a thriving socialist nation by dint of the single-minded unity despite the ceaseless sanctions and blockade by the imperialist allied forces.
