Julia's vintage tea party

IT WAS a totally vintage affair for one Hampshire lady supporting breast cancers sufferers across the county.

Julia Mitchell is the latest to get involved in The Haven in Wessex 1 million Tea Party campaign.

As a member of the charitys fundraising committee she has met with hundreds of women in the south who are desperate for a respite and support centre.

So Julia is desperate to help raise the final 1 million and make the plans for a centre in Titchfield come to life.

She gathered more than 40 of her friends at her home in Shawford, near Winchester, to host a tea party with vintage china teapots, cups and saucers and delicious chocolate cake and other treats.

Julia said: The women I have met have such powerful stories of battling breast cancer or knowing someone who has died from it, and if they had a centre perhaps their stories may have been different.

I find them all truly inspiring and am so passionate about helping the charity. A tea party is such an easy and fun thing to do because everyone loves cake and a good cup of tea. Even if we can just raise a few hundred pounds each that will make a massive difference.
