BUFFALO, N.Y. - There are six, smart and excited students at Mount St. Mary Academy. They will represent the USA in the the SAGE (Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship) competition in Odessa, Ukraine in August. It's aninternational non-profit corporation dedicated to teenage entrepreneurs.

The students will compete against students from 30 countries. Assistant Principal Julie Wojick said "this program gives them an opportunity to exercise another part of their brain. Creativity, teamwork, communication skills." She added "I expect they will represent the country beautifully, Mt. St. Mary beautifully and I do think this will be transformational for them."

There are two teams. One is a not-for-profit and the other makes a profit which is used to help fund a summer camp for girls.

Team Essence is an aromatherapy-based company using organic and natural products. A business the teens created to help people de-stress.

"Our products are based to personalize to our consumers, so if you have problems sleeping, we have a perfect spray for the bottom of your feet or on your pillow before you go to bed," said Marissa Brandel.

A special send off celebration was held in the school auditorium on Monday.

Team Business Buzz is a marketing consulting group specializing community activation. Kaitlin Erill explains, "We've basically given them (companies) a teenage perspective on their business. Colvin Cleaners came to us with the idea that we are running Gowns for Proms this year and we want to reach as many girls as possible. We were brought on to run their social media accounts."

Abigail Bradley said they worked with two teen entrepreneurs from Chico State in California to help them run a summer program and a team from Ireland who map an African country.

"I think all ofWNY should be proud of these girls because they really are the best of who we all are. They will represent not just the United States, but the Buffalo area to the world," said the assistant principal.

The students have worked with Bill Brandel (Vice President and Country Chief Executive-Canada at Ingram Micro), Sean Rahill (Director of Marketing, Independent Health), Paul Billoni (Owner of Colvin Cleaners) to prepare for the competition.

The students already won the national competition in Las Vegas and they hope to win in Ukraine.

Ndaha Mandela, grandson of the late Nelson Mandela is expected to attend and meet with many of the students at the competition.
