Fort Wayne, Ind. (WANE) - - Hundreds of people packed the Grand Wayne Center to hear Ann Coulter speak Friday evening.

The conservative political commentator spoke to a group of people about the current state of politics in the country.

Even though the hot topic right now is Syria, Coulter only touched on it briefly. She said she didn't believe a Democrat should be Commander in Chief.

However, she spent more of her time talking about immigration reform, gun amnesty, gay marriage, and healthcare.

After she spoke, Coulter took questions from the audience, who traveled from all over Indiana to hear the speech.

One of the audience members asked Coulter if she thought the Republican Party would get back to how it was during the Reagan Administration.

She answered by saying the next GOP presidential candidate needs to be a senator or governor who has had experience winning a large election. She even said Governor Mike Pence could be a contender.

"I would say a governor or senator from a very large state, so who does that leave us with, well there's your governor," Coulter said.

The large majority of people there supported Coulter and her views and said she gave a good show.

"I'm kind of torn on the gay marriage and abortion issues," said Nancy Cronin, who came to the speech. "I'm kind of on both sides, but it's good to hear her side and what everybody else thinks."
