Cest Notre Gris (5-1) regained the winning thread in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Premier Nursery at Listowel.

Jim Gorman's grey had finished fourth to the reopposing Count Of Limonade at Killarney, but appreciated the testing conditions here and wore down long-time leader Wholelotofrosie in the shadow of the post.

Winning jockey Ronan Whelan said: "Mr Gorman told me don't give up on him and to keep grinding it out. He hit a flat spot around two furlongs out but he kept finding for me."

Whelan looked like following up when Kanes Pass struck for home in the Feale Handicap, but Ross Coakley was hot on his heels on Jappeli (10-1) and just got the verdict in a tight finish.

Talitha Kum's progression continued as she struck at the third time of asking in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.

Paul Deegan's 9-4 market leader hasn't been beaten far in a couple of good maidens and, with her sights lowered slightly, she powered 10 lengths clear of Tobann.

Deegan said: "She did it real well and handled the ground. She is big filly and has strengthened up with each run. She might go now for the Blenheim Stakes at the Curragh or the Birdcatcher at Naas."
