Meet WordPress the worlds most popular content management system.
In case you do not know, wordpress is the worlds most popular Content Management System. CMS, in this case, means the platform used in managing your website.
The beauty about wordpress is that it is an open source and means it has a huge user bases, contributors and supporters. Open source software is freely distributed by the creators who usually find other ways of making money but commit to distributing such software under a licence called GNU General Public Licence. This sort of licence means that you can literally do anything (depending on the content of the agreement) with the software and source code without fear.
There are hundreds of open source software but our focus would be on the worlds most popular CMS that is an open source: enter wordpress.
WordPress now powers more than 60 million websites worldwide and a quarter of all new websites built today are on this platform.
Before I met wordpress, I used to bother about building custom management systems but not anymore, except for extremely complex jobs.
